If you’ve been asked to complete an assessment
If you’ve come here because you’ve been asked to complete an assessment, you may want to know a bit more about it.
Why am I being asked to complete an assessment?
We would like to know a bit more about your individual circumstances. The goal is to understand you better, so that you can be provided with relevant products, services and support. UK utilities and finance firms are required to understand your personal circumstances. We help them to do this.
I’m already on a priority service register (PSR). Do I still need to be assessed?
It may be that you have already signed up to the Priority Service Register or Vulnerability Registration Service. This is good – but priority service registers are limited and need updating. Therefore, firms are seeking to understand your up-to-date circumstances and a little more detail about you, so they can service you better. It is in your interests to provide this information, but of course this is your choice.
How will the information be used?
Everyone is different, yet most firms deal with people in exactly the same way. Knowing more about you helps significantly with this. For example, if you have dyslexia, then it helps a firm to know this when communicating with you. If you have recently suffered a bereavement or separation, then you may appreciate some help. Also, regulations now require firms to find out more about their customers, to ensure that services and products provided are suitable to their specific needs and that people don’t experience unnecessary harm.
Who will see my information?
The information you provide is securely stored and access is strictly limited. The firm requesting it does need to see it, in order to provide you with the right services and products. But, even within a firm that has requested it, not everyone can see all of the information. They will only see what they need to, and this is limited – so typically they will only see that you have specific needs which should be understood. Your information is not shared with anyone else unless you want it to be. All personal information is managed in accordance with the privacy regulations – GDPR.
Who is completing the assessment?
The company undertaking the assessments is MorganAsh. MorganAsh has been doing this kind of work for around twenty years. MorganAsh is used and trusted by many of the UK’s leading brands, especially in financial services. MorganAsh is regulated by the FCA (the Financial Conduct Authority).
How secure is my information?
It is very secure. The independent company undertaking the assessment, MorganAsh, is certified to high security standards. (Some jargon: MorganAsh is an ISO 27001-certified company and is a Cyber Essentials Plus-certified company.)
What if I don’t want to do it?
You don’t have to. It is your choice. Firms can only treat you in the way you may need to be treated if they know more about you – providing this information helps them to help you.
How long will my data be kept and what if I want it to be deleted?
This varies depending on the service or product provided, but it is generally for as long as you are a customer. Under GDPR, the data is yours and you can request to see it, or have it deleted at any time. Essential service firms do need to retain some data in order to continue to provide services.
I’m worried it’s a scam.
It’s right to be wary of giving away personal information. All of our assessments come via personalised, time-limited links that only work for one person. We never ask for personal information over email. We never ask for information such as bank or credit card details, nor ask for money – this is not part of what we are looking for.
